Del Mar, CA. December 22, 2017. Viewed from Del Mar, CA, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 10 SpaceX communications satellites illuminates the Southern California sky above the Pacific Ocean. Launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base at approximately 5:30 pm, the satellites will join Iridium's NEXT system, which will ultimately include 81 satellites.
